The Cosmopolitan Writing Award recognizes outstanding student writing at four levels. Each represents a genuine achievement — evaluated by our AI panel against consistent, rigorous criteria.
Gold Award
The highest distinction. Gold Award winners demonstrate exceptional mastery of their chosen form — commanding prose, original vision, and technical excellence. This is writing that would stand out in any context.
Silver Award
Silver Award winners show strong craft and clear voice. Their work demonstrates sophisticated understanding of structure, language, and theme, with moments of genuine distinction.
Bronze Award
The Bronze Award recognizes solid, well-crafted writing that shows developing mastery. These submissions demonstrate clear competence and promise, with effective use of the chosen form's conventions.
Honorable Mention
An Honorable Mention acknowledges work that shows notable strengths — perhaps an especially vivid image, a compelling argument, or a memorable character — even if the overall execution is still developing.
What These Awards Mean
